Vdara Hotel & Spa Las Vegas: A Haven of Relaxation in a Two Bedroom Hospitality Suite
5-Star hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada ✈
I recently stayed at the Vdara Hotel & Spa, part of the MGM chain in Las Vegas, Nevada. The hotel provides a distinctive experience, notably different from the typical Vegas offerings. The absence of an in-house casino offers a respite from the non-stop energy of the Vegas Strip, which can be quite welcome after a day of touring or night of entertainment.
Upon arrival, the lobby presented itself as a functional space, accommodating a bar for social or informal business gatherings, a 24-hour café for those late-night or early-morning cravings, and a Starbucks to fuel the day’s adventures. The amenities, including a pool and spa, are consistent with what one expects from a Vegas hotel, albeit with a quieter, more relaxed vibe.

“The Vdara's thoughtful amenities, coupled with its connection to surrounding attractions made it a suitable option for me and other travelers looking for a tranquil haven amidst the Vegas buzz.”
Two casinos were within walking distance. One at the ARIA Resort & Casino across the street and the other at the Bellagio. There is a walkway from the Vdara to the Bellagio. However, during my stay it was being renovated, so the hotel provided a free shuttle bus to and from the Bellagio.
While the Vdara has different size rooms available, I stayed in the Two Bedroom Hospitality Suite. This suite felt more like a residential apartment than a typical hotel room. This magnificent suite was located on the 43rd floor and I really felt at home with the modern look of the interior design. There are great views of parts of the Vegas strip from the many windows in the suite. The electronic switches for window shades added a modern touch and layer of convenience and technological sophistication to the suite's amenities.
Entry to the suite is greeted with a half bathroom, conveniently placed for guests or quick use without infringing on the privacy of the main living spaces. The suite unfolds into a kitchen and living room area that feels more like a home kitchen than a hotel setup, equipped with full-size appliances including a refrigerator, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, and notably, a garbage disposal – a rarity in hotel accommodations.
The kitchen island is sizeable and well-positioned in the heart of the suite, complemented by a practical black round table for dining or working. The living room boasts an added luxury with a wine cooler refrigerator, an amenity for the wine aficionado or for entertaining.
A hallway leading from the living area to the bedrooms houses a utility closet, a practical addition containing a stacked washer and dryer, underscoring the suite's residential functionality.
The bedrooms maintain the apartment-style ambiance, each with an ensuite bathroom featuring both a shower and bathtub – a layout that prioritizes privacy and convenience. One is slightly more spacious and includes a bathroom with windows, offering natural light and a view. The smaller bedroom lacks windows in its ensuite bathroom.
Vdara's pool is situated on the third floor of the hotel and is known as the Pool & Lounge Vdara. This elevated retreat provides a panoramic view of the Las Vegas skyline and its surrounding landscape. The pool area is designed to be an interactive space that includes a combination of private plunge pools and cabanas, semi-secluded plunge pools, and a main pool with varying depths.
- The main pool is large and typically heated for comfort.
- The deck area is furnished with chaise lounges and daybeds for relaxation and sunbathing.
- There are cabanas available for rent, which include amenities like a fan, TV, and a fridge, providing a private and comfortable poolside experience.
- The pool area also hosts a bar, where guests can order a variety of drinks and light refreshments to enjoy by the water.
- The pool's design is modern and uses natural materials to blend with the desert landscape, making it a stylish place to cool off and unwind.
The ESPA at Vdara is a full-service spa that prides itself on a holistic approach to wellness.
- The facility is two-stories, offering a sense of luxury and space.
- It provides a variety of treatments, including massages, facials, and body treatments.
- Many of the spa's treatments are inspired by and incorporate techniques and ingredients native to the desert environment.
- The spa also offers a salon, providing hair and nail services.
- For guests looking for a truly serene experience, the spa features a meditation room.
- There are also separate saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs for men and women.
The Fitness Center:
Vdara’s fitness center is designed to cater to guests who want to maintain their workout routine while away from home.
- The gym is equipped with a range of cardio equipment, including treadmills, elliptical machines, and stationary bikes, many featuring individual TV screens.
- There's a selection of free weights and weight machines suitable for strength training.
- The center also provides space for stretching and functional training, with equipment like yoga mats and stability balls.
- The fitness center is typically open 24/7, allowing guests to work out at their convenience regardless of their schedule.
Each of these amenities contributes to the Vdara Hotel & Spa's overall atmosphere of tranquility and luxury, providing a counterpoint to the excitement and stimulation of the Las Vegas Strip.

The hotel features a sleek, contemporary design. Its architecture stands out with a crescent shape and a glass facade. The interior continues the modern aesthetic with an elegant and minimalistic approach.
Vdara is an all-suite hotel, and the suites are known for their sophistication and modern amenities. They range from deluxe suites to expansive two-bedroom penthouses, many offering striking views of the city or the surrounding mountains.

Being part of the CityCenter complex, guests can enjoy a fine collection of public art on display by world-famous artists, making it a small cultural hub within Las Vegas.
One of the unique selling points of Vdara is its non-gaming and non-smoking policy, which is rare in Las Vegas. This offers guests a quieter, smoke-free environment that can be a significant draw for those who prefer a more subdued atmosphere.
Overall, Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas stands out for its stylish accommodations, commitment to sustainability, wellness offerings, and a tranquil atmosphere amidst the lively city.
