Pankina Kosher Restaurant: Authentic Italian Flavors in Tel Aviv, Israel
Kosher dairy restaurant in Tel Aviv, Israel ✈
I recently had the opportunity to dine at Pankina, a kosher Italian dairy restaurant in Tel Aviv, Israel. Located at Gordon 39, near Dizengoff Square, it was a memorable dining experience, especially considering the accommodating nature of the staff. Despite not having reservations and arriving at a packed restaurant, the staff kindly rearranged some tables to seat our group. This gesture truly reflected the warm, inviting atmosphere Pankina strives to create.

“The atmosphere at Pankina, combined with its flavorful, authentic Italian cuisine, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone in Tel Aviv. The warmth and hospitality of the staff, especially in accommodating a large group without reservations, added to the charm of my visit.”
Pankina, located off Dizengoff Street, one of Tel Aviv's most famous streets, is known for its shops, cafes, and cultural venues. It's a busy commercial hub that captures the essence of Tel Aviv's urban lifestyle, blending modernity with historical charm. This street is often compared to New York's Fifth Avenue due to its lively atmosphere and the variety of shopping and dining options.
Be sure to check out Dizengoff Square while you are there. It’s a notable landmark renowned for its distinct architecture and the iconic Fire and Water Fountain, designed by famous Israeli artist Yaacov Agam.
Pankina was founded by three partners who immigrated from Italy. Emanuel Diporto, a chef with 30 years of experience, Rami Padlon, who previously opened La Taverna del Ghetto - the first kosher restaurant in Rome's Jewish quarter, and Shalom Zerog, a former restaurant owner in Italy, joined forces to create a little slice of Italy in Tel Aviv.
"Pankina," which means 'bench' in Italian, is a clever play on words, linking the literal meaning with the concept of indulgence. The restaurant aims to provide a relaxing and enjoyable Italian experience amidst the busy pace of Tel Aviv.
The menu at Pankina, showcases the rich variety of Italian cuisine. It includes a range of starters, each with its own distinct flavors and ingredients. Salads are available for those seeking lighter fare, made with fresh, quality ingredients. The pasta section features both traditional and modern interpretations, providing options for all palates. Fish dishes are also a highlight, showcasing the Mediterranean influence on Italian cooking. For those who enjoy fried food, there's a dedicated section that follows the culinary traditions of Rome. And for dessert, the restaurant offers classic Italian sweets like tiramisu and panna cotta, ensuring a delightful end to the meal.
Pankina offers lunch deals which are served Sunday to Thursday from 12:00 to 17:00, which includes an appetizer, juice, or coffee. The first course options are a small salad, bruschetta, soup, or bread and dips. For an extra charge, you can upgrade to Arancini or Carpaccio or Tuna Tartar.
The atmosphere at Pankina, combined with its flavorful, authentic Italian cuisine, makes it a must-visit destination for anyone in Tel Aviv. The warmth and hospitality of the staff, especially in accommodating a large group without reservations, added to the charm of my visit. Dining here offers not just a meal, but an experience of Italian culture and hospitality right in the heart of Israel.
