Kosher Meat Restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel ✈
I recently enjoyed a meal at Kinor Bakikar, or in English "Violin in the Square," a renowned kosher meat restaurant in Jerusalem, Israel. Located in the picturesque Kikar Hamusica "Music Square" in the Nahalat Shiv'a neighborhood, Kinor Bakikar offers a blend of Mediterranean, European, and Israeli cuisines, catering to a variety of dietary needs including kosher and gluten-free options.
The restaurant is known for its elegant atmosphere, and a unique color palette of brown, white, and fuchsia pink. Violin-themed decor and waiters dressed in white shirts and bow ties add to the restaurant's charm.

“My experience at Kinor Bakikar was so delightful that I returned another day for a second meal.”
The restaurant's kitchen is led by Chef Kobi Katani, who brings a wealth of experience to Kinor Bakikar, having previously worked at prestigious restaurants in Israel and Australia. The dishes at Kinor Bakikar, while familiar and beloved, are infused with new and emphasized flavors under Chef Katani's guidance.
My experience at Kinor Bakikar was so delightful that I returned another day for a second meal. The restaurant specializes in meat dishes but also serves fish, seasonal salads, and freshly baked bread. The menu reflects a modern approach to cooking while using high-quality ingredients. Some of the notable dishes include Beef Carpaccio, focaccias with tapas, and a variety of meat courses like steak, lamb chops, and chicken. The restaurant also boasts a rich wine list and special desserts, perfect for rounding off a gourmet meal.
Kikar Hamusica square is a cultural hub in Jerusalem, surrounded by several other restaurants, boutique shops, a museum, and a gallery. The square frequently hosts live music performances, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for diners. The repertoire of performances at the square is quite diverse and comprehensive, featuring a wide range of musical genres. Visitors can enjoy everything from rock n’ roll, samba, and klezmer to reggae, pop, and Hasidic music.
Besides Kinor Bakikar, the square is surrounded by several high-quality restaurants, including Nahman, Piccolino, Andalucia, and others, offering exquisite dining experiences that complement the musical ambiance.
The square is also home to the Hebrew Music Museum, which provides an immersive historical experience through the evolution of Hebrew music. The museum showcases ancient and rare musical instruments from different periods and cultures, complemented by innovative technological displays. The architectural structure of the museum is designed with seven chambers, each representing different cultures, including Central Asia, Morocco and Andalusia, Iraq, Syria and Egypt, Europe and Ashkenaz, the Balkans, Africa, Ethiopia, Yemen, and a Hebrew chamber.
Kinor Bakikar is wheelchair accessible, family-friendly, and suitable for large groups. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, with the outdoor area overlooking the lively Kikar Hamusica square. Kinor Bakikar is also well-equipped to host private events, from intimate weddings to company evenings, with a capacity to accommodate up to 110 guests indoors and a larger concourse area suitable for up to 200 guests.
I highly recommend Kinor Bakikar for anyone visiting Jerusalem and looking for a high-quality dining experience in a culturally rich setting.
