Located in the heart of Rockland County, the Hampton Inn Nanuet offers an affordable, reliable stay in New York’s northern suburbs. It’s part of the Hilton portfolio, which means guests can expect consistency in service, amenities, and cleanliness — the qualities that make Hampton Inns a dependable option for both short and extended stays.

During my visit, I stayed in a King Studio Suite with a conference table. The room was spacious, practical, and designed with comfort and functionality in mind. The suite included a kitchenette area featuring a small sink, a microwave, a mini fridge, and a coffee maker. These amenities make it easy to store drinks, heat up meals, or prepare a quick snack, which is especially helpful for travelers on longer stays or those who prefer to keep some food options on hand. The countertops and cabinetry were clean and in good condition, and the neutral tones of the space contributed to a modern but understated atmosphere.

“Whether you’re visiting for work, a family gathering, or a weekend exploring the Hudson Valley, this property offers a balanced experience — comfortable, functional, and consistent from check-in to check-out.”

The layout of the suite was open and inviting. A work desk with an adjustable chair sat across from the entrance, well-lit by a circular mirror and modern lamp. The conference table was large enough to function as a dining area or workspace, which added flexibility. A sofa next to the table provided additional seating and contributed to the comfortable, home-like setup. The flooring throughout the room was wood-style laminate, which gave a clean and updated look compared to carpeted rooms that are common in many mid-range hotels.

The bed was a highlight — large, with crisp white bedding that looked and felt fresh. The linens were neatly pressed, and the pillows provided a mix of soft and firm support. Above the headboard, the lighting was warm without being dim, creating a calm and restful environment. The room decor stayed consistent with the Hampton Inn style — simple framed artwork with local scenery and neutral colors throughout. It’s not luxury design, but it delivers on the basics that matter most for a restful stay.

The bathroom continued that same functional theme. It was spacious, with a walk-in glass shower rather than a tub, which tends to be a cleaner and more modern option. The water pressure was solid, and the temperature adjusted quickly. The countertop was sleek white with plenty of room for toiletries, and the mirror had a clean-lined green border that added a small pop of color. The gray tile flooring matched the contemporary tone of the rest of the suite. Towels were folded neatly, and amenities were stocked with Hampton’s signature wall-mounted dispensers for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash — a more sustainable approach than single-use bottles.

Elsewhere in the hotel, amenities were consistent with what regular Hilton guests would expect from the Hampton brand. The fitness center was compact but well equipped. It included treadmills, stationary bikes, a Peloton bike, and a weight rack with free weights. The area was bright, with a mirrored wall that made the space feel larger. For a small hotel gym, it covered all the basics, making it easy to maintain a workout routine while traveling.

The indoor pool area offered another way to relax or exercise. The pool was clean, with a modest size suitable for a few laps or light recreation. Surrounding the pool were safety railings and seating areas for guests. While the decor here was simple, the area was well maintained, and the pool provided a nice perk for families or guests seeking an indoor activity during colder months.

One feature that adds convenience to the stay is the complimentary breakfast served each morning in the hotel’s dining area. Hampton Inn’s breakfast setup typically includes a mix of hot and cold options, and this location followed that format. There were coffee stations labeled for dark roast, light roast, decaf, and hot water, each with a selection of creamers and sweeteners. The buffet featured items like scrambled eggs, breakfast meats, pastries, bagels, fruit, and yogurt. While the breakfast is not kosher, fruit and Kellogg’s cereal were available. The sign above the counter read “Happy Breakfast Starts Here,” matching Hampton’s cheerful branding. It’s a reliable, no-frills breakfast that’s easy for guests to grab before heading out for the day.

During my stay, I also took advantage of the location. The Hampton Inn Nanuet is within driving distance of a range of restaurants, shopping centers, and local attractions. One evening, I considered driving to Kosher Castle in Monsey, but since it was raining, I ordered it through Uber Eats instead. The food arrived quickly and made for an easy, relaxed night back in the room.

The hotel also sits near a Home Depot, which stands on the former site of Eagle Day Camp, a Jewish day camp I attended in the 1970s and 1980s. That area of Rockland County has long been home to a large and growing Jewish community, with many families who observe Shabbat and maintain kosher homes. Because of this, the region has a significant number of kosher supermarkets, bakeries, and restaurants that serve both locals and visitors.

Just across the other side of the Thruway is Bingo, a grocery store known for its bulk layout and low pricing, similar in feel to a kosher version of Costco. Not far from the hotel are several kosher restaurants, including Kosher Castle, which is known for fast food and Chinese dishes; Primavera, a well-liked dairy restaurant; Fireside Kosher, an upscale steakhouse; and Hava Java, a popular breakfast place that also works well for lunch. Evergreen Kosher Market, one of the largest kosher supermarkets in the area, is also nearby and provides a large selection of groceries, prepared foods, and baked goods.

The hotel’s location is also convenient for those exploring Rockland County or the Hudson Valley. Bear Mountain State Park, one of the region’s most scenic outdoor destinations, is a manageable drive away. It’s an ideal day trip for hiking, sightseeing, or visiting the Hudson River overlooks. For shopping, the Palisades Center in West Nyack is nearby and offers everything from department stores to entertainment venues. This proximity to both nature and retail makes the Hampton Inn Nanuet a practical home base for a variety of travelers — from those passing through on business to families visiting the area.

Service during the stay was friendly and efficient. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff was helpful with local recommendations. The lobby, while compact, was clean and functional, with a small market area for snacks and travel essentials. Parking was complimentary and easily accessible, which is a major advantage compared to hotels in more urban areas.

One of the strongest aspects of the stay was consistency. The Hampton Inn brand is built on reliability, and this property delivers that experience. The suite was clean, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the amenities were all operational. There’s no unnecessary luxury or decor meant to impress — instead, it’s a place where everything functions as expected, which can be even more valuable for travelers who prioritize comfort and predictability.

The lighting throughout the room and hallways was bright but soft, avoiding the harsh fluorescent tones found in some older hotels. The artwork and furniture maintained a neutral palette, mostly grays and soft browns, which gave a calm tone to the environment. The materials used — laminate flooring, quartz-style countertops, and dark wood furniture — helped create a cohesive, slightly modern aesthetic that feels up to date without being trendy.

The room also had good sound insulation. Even though the property is located near a main road and within a short distance of shopping centers, noise from outside was minimal. Inside the building, hallway sounds were faint, suggesting that the hotel’s construction helps maintain a sense of quiet — something that matters when rest is the goal.

The King Studio Suite’s layout worked well for both leisure and business travel. Having the large table and separate desk allowed flexibility — one surface for meals or planning and another for computer work. The inclusion of multiple electrical outlets and USB ports around the room was convenient for charging devices, a small but essential detail for modern travelers.

Cleanliness stood out throughout the stay. The bathroom surfaces were spotless, the bedding looked fresh, and there were no signs of wear in the main living area. The room temperature control was easy to manage through the wall thermostat, and the heating and air conditioning worked efficiently without noticeable noise.

The overall impression of the Hampton Inn Nanuet is that of a well-maintained, well-run property that serves its purpose effectively. It’s not a luxury hotel and doesn’t try to be. Instead, it focuses on value, cleanliness, and comfort. For travelers familiar with the Hampton brand, this location delivers the experience they expect. For new guests, it’s an introduction to a reliable, mid-range stay in a convenient New York suburb.

This property would suit several types of travelers: those visiting Rockland County for family or business, people stopping overnight while traveling through the Hudson Valley, or guests seeking an affordable base for exploring nearby destinations. Its proximity to both suburban conveniences and outdoor attractions makes it adaptable to different travel purposes.

From a travel perspective, what makes this hotel appealing is its consistency and accessibility. It’s close to major highways like the New York State Thruway and the Palisades Interstate Parkway, which connect easily to New York City, Westchester, and northern New Jersey. Yet once inside, it feels calm and separate from the busier surroundings.

The Hampton Inn Nanuet provides exactly what most travelers need: a clean, comfortable room, a good night’s sleep, and dependable amenities at a reasonable price. It’s an easy choice for anyone seeking practicality over luxury and a convenient location in Rockland County. Whether you’re visiting for work, a family gathering, or a weekend exploring the Hudson Valley, this property offers a balanced experience — comfortable, functional, and consistent from check-in to check-out.
